What does it mean to be 'missional'?

As Engage magazine embarks on a journey with you to rediscover our shared understanding of God's mission, we invite you to reflect on the idea of what it means to be "missional."

In the coming weeks and months, through our eight-month "Mission Essentials" series, we will discuss the meaning and practice of concepts such as "Who is a missionary?" and "What is the 'mission field'?" and "Called: How do you know?" All of these topics have their root in this newly coined but sometimes nebulous word, "missional."

We welcome your participation in the conversation. If you would like to share your thoughts and reflections on the topics in the series, we invite you to submit comments below each article. If you upgrade to "writer status," you will be able to submit a responsive essay for consideration in Engage.
