The definition of "compassion," according to Dictionary.com, is "a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering."
In the Church of the Nazarene, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is an organization whose mission is to provide ways for Nazarenes to live out compassion, following the example of Jesus Christ. Often, local churches are the channels through which our global Church family can become involved in alleviating human suffering at local, regional or national levels.
